The stringent response (SR) is one of the many techniques used by bacteria to withstand various stress situations. During SR, a protein called Rel produces Magic Spot Nucleotides (MSN). My goal is to obtain more information about SR, establish a quick quantification assay for MSN and test different potential inhibitors for Rel.
